Watching the worship service come alive was a true blessing on Sunday, May 22. Our church was truly blessed to experience a deaf worship service. The special music, welcome, hymns, drama, prayers, testimony, scripture and sermon were vividly portrayed through American Sign Language. We are very thankful for the opportunity to reach the Deaf Community in the CSRA. Starting May 29 we will provide the Deaf Community with two styles of worship. At 9:30 AM we will provide a Deaf Church and at 10:55 AM we will provide an interpreted service. Everyone both deaf and hearing is invited to participate in one or the other, or both.
Our sign choir has been invited to participate in the United Methodist Congress of the Deaf Conference and the Celebration of 40 years of Deaf Ministry in the Western North Carolina Conference. This event will take place July 29-31, 2011 in Lake Junalaska, NC.
